The new 6.5-inch VGA TFT display module, from GPEG International, features a product availability lifetime of a minimum of three years, a high brightness long life LED backlight, excellent contrast ratio and an extended operating temperature range of -30C to +85C.

This new display is particularly suitable for use in equipment that requires excellent readability while operating under harsh climatic conditions. These include outdoor and industrial applications such as portable information terminals, test equipment, industrial plant and machinery and access-control systems.

The 640xRGBx480 pixels (VGA) TFT LCD module uses amorphous silicon transmissive LCD technology and an LED backlight to achieve typical brightness levels of 700cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 600:1.

The LED backlight supports wide range dimming control using PWM and has a lifetime of 50K hours the LED driver is built in. A wide left-right viewing angle of 160 degrees further underlines the display's adaptability in real-world industrial applications.

Capable of displaying up to 262K colours, the display features an integrated low voltage differential signalling (LVDS) interface. The module has an active area of 132.5 x 99.40 mm contained within its overall dimensions of 153.0 x 118.0 x 10.90mm.
