Pimp My Display
Simple but effective display enhancements service to get more from your user interface.
GPEG, one of Europe’s premier manufacturers of display products, has launched a new service this month to help customers enhance and improve the performance of their user interface.
“A display is a unique combination of optical, mechanical and electro-chemical materials”, says Nick How CEO of GPEG UK, “ we continually come across clients who have purchased OK products, but who really need to increase the contrast brightness and other key features within their display, in order to make it truly perform within its environment”.
“We posses an incredible range of knowledge within our design and technical teams to enable us to increase performance in view angle, speed, brightness, power consumption, colour purity, contrast, reflectivity and most areas of optical design. The ‘pimp-mydisplay’ concept works really well as we can often demonstrate these dramatic improvements by simply modifying their existing display, prior to re-tooling it, to capture the enhancements at a manufacturing level”.
One recent example was to increase the effective contrast on a display by more than 50%. This was achieved through a combination of precise manufacturing of the display photomask and the use of advanced polarising materials to boost optical efficiency.
“One of the best features of this service is the ‘try before you buy’ nature of many of the enhancements, and who knows maybe somebody out there needs a pink display with super eye catching looks!”
