Many low light applications such as household meters, instruments, auditorium equipment etc benefit significantly from backlighting of the display but cannot afford the space, power or cost of traditional solutions. FREEGLOW overcomes this by fitting a high emission, long dwell time phosphorescent film at the back of any LCD. It stores ambient light by a chemical process and re-emits that light in dark conditions – effectively backlighting a product for free.
